Recap

Visited friends, stopped by old haunts and saw the new hotness this weekend. A lot of fun is made of Orlando and while not inconsequential it's easier to ignore because of the following. Still figuring out the camera...sorry.

The new Imperial in Sanford. Take an amazing furniture store and insert bar. Wake up Sanford! You got something awesome.

Watching this guy do stand up at The Bull and Bush

With these guys

Will's Pub, if you require an explanation than just forget it.

With these guys

The original Imperial at Washburn's on N. Orange. It's not a contest but if it was...

This guy would win

The Cask and Larder. A piece of real estate that's been a series of failures...no mas.

Lake Killarney from Hillstone (formerly Houston's) at dusk.

Southern Fried Sundays with Thomas Wynn and the Believers

First visit to Lil Indies. Re-purposed wood pallet wine glass holder.

Thank you for the hospitality and overall outstanding time. Keep up the good work.

There Was a Time

When I was responsible for a talk radio station that spewed awful, racist, hate filled, narrow minded, boarding on insane rhetoric. The only things making this remotely tolerable were the people I worked with and the random listener engagement.

One of Kind Show part 2

Made it back to the Merchandise Mart today for the last day of the One of a Kind Show and found some people doing interesting stuff.

I saw this on my fist pass through but didn't notice the functionality...not sure about the sound quality but really like the idea of an ipod dock with character. From The Steam Emporium.

Some crazy detail work and mind numbing order of assembly from J.Diemer Artisanry. Check out more pieces at Handmadebirdcages.com  They're doing a give away on their facbook page.

Not a lot of ethnic stuff so Mexica Crafs from Woodstock NY made an impression.

Some of My Favorite Things

Roland Sands was commissioned by Technics and came up with this amazing cafe racer sportster. Meanwhile orange county choppers continue making giant ugly motorcycles.

Renegade Craft Fair

There was some great work for sale this past weekend at The Renegade Craft Fair in Wicker Park. Organizers did a nice job of spreading different forms around the complex. It got pretty intense at times (not going to push you down even though i could) but having different djs in all the rooms helped with the anxiety....a bit. Definitely not for those who can't handle crowds and the dickheads who are part of that equation.

Got a deck for my nephew from Fourth Is King but may end up keeping it finding him something else.

Also picked up a few t-shirts but can't post pics because of nosey girls.

One of a Kind Show

There's a show taking up the entire 8th floor of the Merchandise Mart (city block). If this art/craft thing is any indication of what Christmas shoppers are buying there are going to be a lot of people rocking new lids come Dec 26th. Old Good Things has great stuff but that's what they are. Still have some leg work left but these three made me smile.

Repurposed Material Lights from Retech

Bike/Wine Rack from Rail Yard Studios.
Railway maintenance crew from Tenn started making interesting stuff out of their by-product about three years ago.

Wood Belt Buckle from Red Belly.
Got this for my stepfather who came up in Montana's lumber industry.
